Building a daily skin care routine

Whether your skin type, maintaining overall skin health and addressing particular issues like acne, scars, and dark spots can all be accomplished with a regular skin care regimen. There are four essential phases in a regular skin care routine that you can complete once in the morning and once before bed.

  1. Cleansing:

Use a product that doesn’t leave your skin feeling tight after using it. If you have dry skin and don’t wear makeup, clean your face no more than twice a day, or simply once. Avoid washing to feel completely clean because that means your skin’s natural oils are no longer present.

  1. Serums:

In the morning, under sunscreen, a serum containing growth factors, peptides, or vitamin C would be preferable. Retinol or prescription retinoids function best at night.

Sebaceous filaments

Your pores contain light yellow sebaceous filaments, which are little tubes that resemble cylinders. These are frequently mistaken for blackheads, but blackheads are actually an oxidized form of acne. Sebaceous filaments can enlarge your pores, so you might be tempted to use pore strips or compress your skin to get rid of them. However, if you don’t use these techniques correctly, they could harm your skin more than help it.

Overtime, you can also cause:

  • Irritation
  • Open pores and infection
  • Dryness
  • Redness
  • Peeling

Retinol or retinoid-containing topical products can help keep pores clear and unclogged. Using mineral or castor oil to massage your face for a minute may also be beneficial.
